Comfortable and free of charge
You don’t need a car during a winter holiday in Innsbruck and its holiday villages, even if you want to ski. A free ski bus runs to all of the surrounding ski resorts every day. There’s nothing to arrange – all you need is a Welcome Card, which you’ll receive automatically and at no extra cost from your accommodation provider.
The next ski bus service is from 7 December 2019 until 13 April 2020.

Innsbruck's J bus line is free for skiers and snowboarders during the skiing season, and crosses through the city connecting the ski resorts of Patscherkofel and the Nordkette.
To travel for free, passengers just have to ensure that they look like skiers or snowboarders, meaning that if you have your skis or snowboard with you, and are wearing the necessary clothing for winter sports, you'll travel for free. Of course, this rule doesn't just apply on the J bus, but on all of the city's bus routes.
If you choose to leave your equipment at the ski resort, you'll need to bring your receipt. To travel back to the resort, simply show your lift card for the day.
Attention: this offer is only valid during the ski season, and as long as the resorts are open for winter sports.
