From upper Innsbruck to the Umbrüggler Alm mountain hut

This route leads out of Innsbruck and up onto the slopes of the Nordkette mountain range. The Hungerburgbahn funicular makes it possible to cover a large part of the ascent very quickly. The walk starts from Hermann-Buhl-Platz square, which has beautiful views of Innsbruck and the surrounding mountains, including Patscherkofel, Serles and Nockspitze. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, the route follows well-developed trails up to the Umbrüggler Alm mountain hut where you can enjoy a modern take on Tyrolean dishes and admire views of the city from the lovely terrace.  Afterwards, the hike continues via Höttinger Graben to Höttinger Bild chapel. Finally, a trail woven with tree roots leads to Kranebitten and the end of this section of the hike.
