Crossing Pirchkogel

Today's section starts at Sattele bus stop and leads along the leisurely Pirchkogelweg trail towards the Feldringalm mountain hut. The route follows a forest road that starts out flat and then leads up through a coniferous forest. The trees open up shortly before reaching the Feldringalm to reveal this charming mountain hut surrounded by lush green alpine meadows. At the hut, you can enjoy the sun with a cool and refreshing drink while admiring beautiful panoramic views from the wonderful terrace.

The route continues up a steep mountain path towards Pirchkogel. The trail passes through a short wooded area, past Feldringer Böden to Grünwaslkreuz cross (2,017 m), where you can enjoy beautiful views of the Kühtai mountains.

The trail towards Pirchkogel continues over alpine meadows and past a few small lakes. Soon you come to a fork in the trail and, if you have seen quite a few hikers up to this point, it will become quieter. During the hike, you are repeatedly rewarded with spectacular views of the Inn Valley and the Kühtai mountains.
The wide mountain ridge becomes increasingly narrower as the hike progresses and turns into alpine terrain. The meadows disappear and are replaced by rocks and stones. In some places, cairns line the path as it continues up to the summit cross. This section requires you to be sure-footed and have a good head for heights. Once at the summit, you can see not only the Kühtai mountains, but also the Mieming Range.
From the summit, you can also see the route to Kühtai. If you follow the path, you will soon come to two small mountain lakes. The route continues past the mountain lift station of the Kaiserbahn lift and down a steep path to Kühtai.
