This section starts in Neu Peida and first leads to the Sonnbergalm mountain hut along the Wonder Trail, which you follow for an hour as it zigzags up the mountain. Information boards along the way highlight and explain little wonders of nature. Just below the Sonnbergalm, you join the Sellrain Valley high-altitude trail. The first part of this trail is a steep path that leads up the mountain, past avalanche barriers and up and down the slopes of the Peider Sonnberg mountain. The route requires you to traverse a few small chutes and some sections are secured with cables. The hike continues below the peak of Rosskogel to the Rifflkreuz cross, where you can enjoy exceptional views of the entire Lower Inn Valley and the Kalkkögel mountain range, which is known as the "Dolomites of North Tyrol" thanks to its craggy peaks.
From Kögele, you follow a mountain path west down the mountain. Now and again, you will come across wire fences that you need to cross with the help of wooden stiles. The route is sometimes steep as it leads back down through the forest to the pilgrimage church in St. Quirin, which marks the end of today's hike.
