After walking for a few minutes, you'll pass a small power station and come to the start of the path that runs through the Zimmerberg Gorge. The path is narrow and leads to a rest area with a table and benches. It climbs leisurely up through the gorge and mostly runs alongside the Griesbach stream.
Follow signs towards Straßberghaus, which is an alpine guesthouse that you can also hike to along this trail. The walk leads over small bridges, past beautiful rock formations and up wooden steps that zigzag along the cliff face. After walking for about an hour, you will reach a 30-metre-long steel cable suspension bridge over the Griesbach stream – you'll need a good head for heights to cross it.
This is where the trail ends and, after a few metres, you'll reach a wide forest road with a signpost and the "Klammsteig" (gorge path) stamp point. Follow the sign towards Lehen. The route leads gently downhill and finally branches off to the right into the forest. Continue to follow the signs towards Lehen. The well-maintained path eventually turns into a gravel road and then finally a paved road just before Lehen.
After passing the first houses in Lehen, you will reach a signpost that points you towards Telfs. Just a few metres further you will find Gasthof Lehen, a nice restaurant and guesthouse for taking a break. Afterwards, the path continues straight down into the valley towards the Sonnensiedlung district of Telfs. Turn right at the fork in the road above Sonnensiedlung and then continue straight on until you reach "Am Sonnenberg" a few minutes later. Once there, make a sharp left to head south and then take the second turn. At the end of that road, you will find a small trail that leads back down to the Thöni Aluwelten.
