Forecast

With more humid air coming in today, cumulus clouds will increase in the afternoon and can produce some quite heavy thunderstorms by the evening. The first half of the day will however be bright. It will be rather windy at times.

Tendency

For Sunday and Monday an improvement in the weather is still not in sight. After brighter spells during the morning we will see a return to showers and thunderstorms around midday.

This tour starts in Sellrain and leads through the Tanneben district, over glorious alpine meadows to the Schmalzgrubenalm mountain hut, which is located 1,678 metres above sea level. From there, the hike continues to Salfein (Schönangerl) at 2,000 metres and then follows the Salfein ridge over four peaks along the border between the Senders Valley and the Fotscher Valley: Grieskogel (2,168 m), Breitschwemmkogel (2,264 m), Angerbergkopf (2,400 m) and Schafleger ( 2,405 m). From the Schafleger, you can either hike via the Kreuzjöchl-Seealm mountain hut to the Potsdamer Hütte mountain hut or via the Furggesalm mountain hut (1,938 m) to the Alpengasthof Bergheim alpine guesthouse.

Hikers must be in good shape, have high fitness levels and demonstrate excellent stamina for this tour!
