Mutters attracts lots of ski tourers year after year thanks to its purpose-built ski touring track for the climb up the mountain and perfectly prepared pistes for a great ride back down. We recommend starting your tour at the reasonably priced car park at Axams leisure centre. From there, go left across the field, head diagonally uphill towards Lärchenwald guesthouse and then bear right to the bottom lift station of the Muttereralmbahn. The route continues along the piste to just past the middle station. From there, turn right onto the old drag lift track and continue straight on through the forest to the mountain lift station of the Muttereralmbahn. If you want to continue up to Pfriemesköpfl, follow the sign to the ski route near the "Götzner Abfahrt" slope, where you bypass the steep slope to Pfriemesköpfl.
The pistes are open for ski tourers using the designated ski touring ascent routes from Monday to Friday between 9 am and 8 pm, and on Wednesdays until 10 pm (during the holidays from 4 pm). Saturdays and Sundays are reserved for downhill skiing and snowboarding only.
Please note that the pistes are closed before 9 am and after 8 pm for your own safety.
The ascent takes between 1.5 and 2.5 hours depending on your chosen route.
