The Lanser Kopf Loop

Single tracks through shady woodland, past the Viller Kopf and Lanser Kopf peaks and Lanser See lake. From Igls, a warm-up and cool-down route leads to the start of the Lanser-Kopf circuit. The start of this loop is in Vill. From the starting point in a northerly direction, the trail leads along forest paths to the Tantegert stop of tram line 6, the lowest point of the loop. Continue uphill in an easterly direction to Sparberegg, where the trail makes a U-turn, and continues westwards to the Mühlsee lake (forest path). After the short ascent from the Mühlsee, the trail continues for approx. 50m on the asphalt road, at the next junction turn right and continue north of the Lanser Kopf hill to the Viller Kopf hill (forest path). Continue westwards to reach the start of the Lanser Kopf loop again. Shortly before the starting point, take the turn-off on the left and continue eastwards along a field path to the Lanser See lake and loop back along the "Seeweg" to the starting point.

The MoSe-Runde circuit

A sunny circuit around the golf course and past the Lanser See and Mühlsee lakes. Our tip: After the Seerosenweiher lily pond, you can shorten the route.   The MoSe loop starts on the western shore of Lanser See. Head west along a gravel path, after approx. 100m turn left over a small hill and at the end of the hill take a sharp right onto the Seeweg (path). Follow the Seeweg hiking trail along the edge of the forest in a westerly direction and after approx. 700m you will reach the "Bachgangweg" crossroads. (field path). Here the trail continues steeply uphill on the right for approx. 200m and then at a sharp angle to the right eastwards. The trail runs along the Viller Kopf hill past the north side of the Lanser See lake and the Lanser Moor nature reserve (lily pond) straight ahead along the edge of the golf course to the Vogelhütte snack station, the easternmost point of the MoSe loop (forest path). Continue westwards on asphalt around the golf course via "Sparberegg", past the tram stop on line 6 to the next stop "Lanser See". Turn right here and after approx. 300m you reach the start of the trail.

Panorama-Runde

A classic route with a fantastic 5-valley view that is also very suitable for trail running beginners. The route leads around Patscherkofel mountain on the renowned "Zirbenweg“ and “Jochleitensteig". From the start at the Patscherkofel middle station, head west on a wide forest path (gravel) past the Patscher Alm and continue uphill to the Hochmahdalm. 2 hairpin bends after the Hochmahdalm, leave the forest path and turn right onto the Jochleitensteig. The narrow trail first leads over forest soil and then over rock and gravel just along the tree line. On the south side of the Patscherkofel, the trail leads to the Boscheben Alpine Inn. From there you follow the well-known Zirbenweg on gravel and rock back to the mountain station of the Patscherkofel cable car. If you don't want to run uphill at the beginning of the loop, take the Patscherkofel cable car to the mountain station and from there run along the flat forest path following the "Panorama-Shortcut" signs to the start of the Jochleitensteig.

The Panorama Shortcut

The "Panorama-Shortcut" at Patscherkofel offers a 5.6 km, easy to moderately difficult route with breathtaking views. The run starts at the mountain station and first follows a flat forest path to the beginning of the "Jochleitensteig". From there, the panoramic loop leads back to the starting point. With 185 meters of elevation gain and loss, the entire route stays at around 2,000 meters altitude, providing a unique running experience with stunning vistas. Perfect for those who want to combine trail running with nature enjoyment.

Rauschbrunnen circuit

A very challenging route to a destination that is popular among Innsbruck locals. The route starts at the Gasthaus Planötzenhof restaurant and leads slightly downhill to the Sadrach district before continuing past Grüner Boden to the Buzihütte mountain hut. From there, a long steep section leads up to the Kollandbrunnen fountain, where you meet the Stangensteig trail. This trail runs parallel to the Rauschbrunnen circuit for a short distance before coming to a long steep section that zigzags up to the Rauschbrunnen mountain hut. From there, the route leads downhill to the east, first along the Knappensteig trail and then on a forest road, past the Höttinger Bild chapel and back to the starting point.

Rosnerweg run

The ideal flat training loop with a short, steep hiking section extends over 2.7 kilometers. Starting at the end of the Forstmeile, the route initially heads south before following a soft, flat forest path westward. Almost parallel to the slope, it crosses the Arzler Alm Trail and reaches the Rosnerweg. After a flat section along the avalanche dam, a short but very steep segment follows. The route then gently descends and flattens out, leading back to the starting point—perfect for a varied yet moderate workout.

The Schwarzmoosrunde trail

The Schwarzmoosrunde trail first leads east across the car park by the Hochalterbahn chairlift and then zigzags up a forest path. Once you have left the Nederbach stream and the Kaiser-Max-Hütte mountain hut behind you, the route turns right to follow the mountain path under the Schwarzmooslift drag lift. From there, it's only a few vertical metres up to the highest point of the trail, the mountain lift station of the Kaiserbahn chairlift that sits at an altitude of 2,443 m above sea level. From there, you head back down to the tourist information centre with wonderful views of the Schwarzmoos lakes and the Sellrain Valley.

Sebastian Kandler run

The trail run starts from Hungerburg, leading over the Amarellersteig to the Arzler Alm. Covering a distance of 5.6 km, it gains and loses 240 meters in elevation. With a "moderate" difficulty level, the route offers varied terrain and beautiful views. It's ideal for those who enjoy running in nature and seek a moderate challenge. The run combines gentle ascents and relaxed sections, making it a great experience for trail running enthusiasts.

The Sill Gorge trail

Trail through Innsbruck's most beautiful and shadiest gorge with a view of the Bergisel ski jump. Start via the wide signposted Panorama Trail in the direction of the Sill Gorge on a partly narrow path. (Attention, wet in places - danger of slipping!). The Sill Gorge ends at a wooden bridge in the district of Gärberbach, from here the trail goes uphill to Natters. The way back then leads downhill over a single trail to the starting point. Alternatively, you can also start behind the giant circular painting in Wilten. (easy to reach by car or public transport).

City forest walk

A medium-length circular walk that passes well-known highlights in the Hungerburg area while also following some of the less common paths. From the starting point in the Hungerburg district, first head west along the low-traffic paved road to Gramartboden. From there, the route starts along a steep forest road but soon joins a wonderful, flat and very beautiful forest path. Follow this path east through Innsbruck's city forest and then along the "Maria im Walde" trail, past the small shrine of the same name and all the way to the Kreuzbrunnen fountain. From there, the route leads pleasantly downhill, crossing under the Nordkettenbahn cable car to join the Rosnerweg trail, which leads west back to the starting point.
