A few steps from there stands a 3.5 metre tall bronze sculpture of the „lantern-bearer“, one of the main figures of Telfs’ Fasnacht. On the edge of the circular basin are 16 bronze reliefs installed by Professor Martin Gundolf. They depict the various groups of Telfs’ “Schleicherlaufen“, a unique and centuries-old Tyrolean Fasnacht custom. Whoever takes the time to look closely will see the sequence of the entire Fasnacht procession, which begins with the rising of the sun. Thereafter follows the heralds, the four seasons, the wild beasts, the lurkers, the bears, “Laninger” and many more.
