Al final del aparcamiento para senderistas (Wanderparkplatz) de Wildermieming, seguir las indicaciones dirección Ochenbründlsteig de un sendero bien preparado. La primera mitad del tramo es empinada al principio, luego la subida es más suave. Hasta llegar al refugio Schäferhütte, el camino sube y baja constantemente. Seguir luego el camino marcado a través del bosque, atravesar un pequeño arroyo y continuar hasta el refugio Neue Alplhütte. Justo detrás del refugio se alzan las abruptas paredes de roca de la cordillera de Mieming. Para no repetir camino en la vuelta, se recomienda bajar por el refugio Strassberghaus siguiendo un camino forestal que lleva directo desde el refugio Neue Alplhütte al refugio Strassberghaus que se sitúa en un entorno idílico al fondo del valle. Desde el refugio Strassberghaus al punto de salida hay un atractivo camino forestal.
