La ruta al refugio Birgitzer Alm empieza al lado de la iglesia de Birgitz y lleva por un camino forestal por idílicos prados. A pie unas dos horas. A medio camino posibilidad de descansar en el restaurante alpino Gasthof Adelshof (1.315 m) antes de continuar por una ruta forestal hasta Birgitzer Alm. Cerca del restaurante Gasthof Adelshof hay aparcamientos para el refugio Birgitzer Alm. Desde este punto hay que calcular una hora a pie por un camino forestal.
Llegados al refugio Birgitzer Alm hay dos opciones: continuar hasta Götzner Alm (1.542 m) o ir hasta Axamer Lizum (1.564 m). Tiempo aproximado a pie para ambas rutas son unos 30 minutos. Mapa de las rutas en la oficina de turismo de Axams.
