Vanaf de VVV ofwel via Wiesberg/Drei-Seen-Hütte (1 ¼ uur) of langs hotel Astoria door het Finstertal (1 ½ uur) naar de stuwdam van het stuwmeer Finstertal klimmen. Vanaf daar gaat het verder op de AV146 langs het stuwmeer tot het einde daarvan. Aan het begin van de klim naar de Sulzkogel bevindt zich links de toegang naar de Finstertaler Scharte (kerf) (AV146), die u na 1 ½ uur bereikt. Dan volgt de beklimming naar de top.
