Desde la oficina de turismo de Kühtai hay dos caminos posibles: por el refugio Wiesberg/Drei-Seen-Hütte (1 ¼ hora) o ascenso por el valle Finstertal (1 ½ hora) hasta el muro de la presa. Luego el camino sigue por la ruta AV146 por la orilla de la presa hasta su final. En el inicio del ascenso a Sulzkogel, encontramos a mano izquierda, la entrada a la brecha Finstertaler Scharte (AV146), a la que se llega en 1,5 horas de camino, aproximadamente. Luego sigue el ascenso a la cumbre.
