Eerst op de weg nr. 42 van het restaurant Forellenhof over de brug op de dalinwaarts leidende weg. Na ca. 2,5 km voor de waterwinning rechtsaf. Er volgt een steile klim tot de „Hüttl am Stoan“. Op het rechterpad hoog in het Steintal richting Steintalsattel (zadel). De top van de 2.742 m. hoge Steintalspitze ligt rechts van de wandelaar. Het zadel oversteken en naar het Finstertaler-stuwmeer afdalen. Op de weg van de krachtcentrale naar Kühtai.
