This hike starts from the Forellenhof restaurant and follows route no. 42 across the bridge and into the valley. Continue until about 2.5 km before the water catchment facility and then turn right to follow the steep path up to "Hüttl am Stoan". Take the right-hand trail up into the Steintal valley towards the Steintalsattel. On your right, you will see the 2,742-metre-high Steintalspitze peak. Then cross the col, hike down to the Finstertal reservoir and follow the service road to Kühtai.
