Van de Zirmbachalm op de AV 153 tot achter het waterslot, een omheining van de Klammbach, waarvan het water naar het stuwmeer Längental wordt gevoerd. Vanaf hier wordt de AV 152 een goed gemarkeerd pad, dat voortdurend licht stijgend over almweides bergopwaarts voert. Halverwege het traject ligt de afbuiging naar de Rietzer Grieskogel, waar u links blijft. Kort voor de kerf is nog een uitgebreid maar probleemloos terrein van steengruis te overwinnen.
