Achter de Pfaffenhofer alm volgt u de wegwijzer "Narrenkopf“. De wandeling voert eerst links van de kloof de steile helling op naar de eindmorene. Volgt u de borden en markeringen langs het keteldal tot aan het einde van de kaar. Het gaat rechts verder in haarspeldbochten de bergpas op, dan weer rechts aanhoudend tot de top van de Narrenkopf. De Narrenkopf draagt twee kruizen: het originele kruis van de Narrenkopf is het achterste, dat op het hoogste punt staat.
