La ruta lleva desde Sellrain por el barrio de Tanneben y bellísimos prados alpinos hasta el refugio Schmalzgrubenalm, a 1.678 metros de altitud. Luego continua hasta Salfein (Schönangerl), a 2.000 metros de altitud, y sigue la cresta Salfeinskamm que divisa los valles Senderstal y Fotschertal pasando por cuatro cumbres: Grieskogel (2.168 m), Breitschwemmkogel (2.264 m), Angerbergkopf (2.400 m) y Schafleger (2.405 m). Aquí se puede continuar por Kreuzjöchl-Seealm al refugio Potsdamer Hütte o dirigirse al refugio Furggesalm (1.938 m) y el restaurante Alpengasthof Bergheim.
