Viktor Hufnagl
The Austrian architect Viktor Hufnagl (1922 - 2007) is considered a pioneer of contemporary school construction and a typologically inventive residential architect. With a clear affinity for geometric systems of organisation, he designed robust urban particles and habitats that were oriented towards people. As a building culture activist, he also saw his profession as a socio-political mission and was, among other things, co-founder of the ÖGFA Austrian Society for Architecture. On the occasion of his 100th birthday, the ÖGFA dedicated an exhibition to Viktor Hufnagl, which is now being shown in a revised form at the aut. Using exemplary works, it highlights central aspects of Hufnagl's work, shows previously unpublished material and, with photographs by Werner Feiersinger, takes a look at the current state of his buildings. Admission free.
