Who Is James Hersey?
James Hersey, an Austro-American singer-songwriter with roots in Vienna, Austria, has carved out a unique path in the music industry. Starting locally with independent radio airplay, he quickly gained a loyal following as his heartfelt songwriting resonated with listeners. His music, often remixed in the electronic dance music (EDM) world, catapulted him to international fame.
I had the pleasure of interviewing him. “The most important thing to know about me,” James shares, “is that my music is all about connection—whether it’s through the lyrics, the melody, or the vibe, I’m always aiming to create something that resonates on a personal level. My sound is a blend of indie, pop, and electronic influences, with a touch of singer-songwriter authenticity. It’s the kind of music you can listen to when you want to feel understood, uplifted, or just lost in a good groove.”
All The Hits
Among his most well-known tracks are “Coming Over” (which has over 200 million streams), “Miss You” (over 120 million streams), and “How Hard I Try” (over 100 million streams). These hits have earned him multiple Gold records in the USA, Canada, and Italy, and have led to performances at some of the world’s most renowned music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo.
Reflecting on his career, James notes: “The most significant moment for me was when my single ‘Coming Over’ gained international attention. That track opened up so many doors and introduced my music to a global audience. It was incredible to see something I created resonate with so many people around the world.”

This Sundowner concert marks the start of James’s European tour, offering a rare opportunity to see him in an intimate setting, surrounded by the beautiful mountains. “I’m really excited about the Seegrube concert—performing at that altitude, with the mountains as a backdrop, is going to be something special,” James says. “The natural beauty of the area definitely inspires me, and I think it’ll bring a deep energy to the performance. It’s not just about the music; it’s about creating an experience that’s in harmony with the environment.”
As James embarks on his European tour, he’s eager to reconnect with fans and share his latest work: “The Seegrube show is the perfect way to kick off the tour! There’s nothing quite like the energy of a live show, and I can’t wait to share new music, as well as some fan favorites, with everyone. My goal is always to create a space where people can feel the music, both physically and emotionally.”
