Innsbrucker Segelflieger Vereinigung celebrated their 65th anniversary with the reenactment of a historic flight that took place 75 years ago off the Seegrube. The event also included a glider plane stunt show.

Pilot Walter Wartlsteiner and the Rhönbussard replica were launched off Seegrube at an altitude of 1,950 meters, using only a bungee cord and the strength of volunteers from the ISV club and the Hungerburg Fire Department. The glider plane accelerated from 0 – 80 km/h in a matter of seconds, then crisscrossed through the Innsbruck sky as onlookers cheered with joy. Mr. Wartlsteiner and the Rhönbussard soared above Innsbruck for approximately 15 minutes, ultimately landing at the Innsbruck Airport. Prior to the flight, the pilot made the rounds; greeting spectators, posing for photos and being interviewed by the multiple members of the media present to document this historic event. Other members of the club were also present to share information about membership, training and tours offered to the public. Add the glider plane tour to your Innsbruck to do list. You’ll be treated to a bird’s-eye view of the town and Alps, guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience you’ll tell for the rest of your life.

New bucket list item: Ride a glider plane in Innsbruck

The stunt show was performed by a separate glider plane that was towed by a motorize aircraft, then released in mid-air. The stunt plane mesmerize the spectators with barrel rolls, flips, plunges and sharp turns; at one point flying only meters above Restaurant Seegrube!

[notrans]Drag[/notrans] from the Mountaintops! On the 27th of November in the Seegrube Restaurant on the Nordkette mountain there was a [notrans]Drag Brunch[/notrans]. The term [notrans]„drag“[/notrans] is said to have originated in the late 1800s in theater when male performers performed as women, but the term and art of [notrans]drag[/notrans] has evolved and grown throughout time. [notrans]Drag[/notrans] has been around for quite some time, and all over the world. Recently with television shows like „Rupaul’s Drag Race“ and „Dragula“ more and more people are discovering the art and local [notrans]drag[/notrans]. From outfit changes to reveals, I couldn’t take my eyes away! Can’t Miss Opportunity! I have seen some [notrans]drag[/notrans] performers occasionally around Innsbruck at various events, but for the most part it seems to me that Vienna is more known for frequent performances and [notrans]drag brunches[/notrans]. Once I saw that Seegrube would be the location for a [notrans]drag brunch[/notrans] I KNEW I couldn’t pass on the opportunity. [notrans]Wally Quinn[/notrans] and [notrans]Naomi King[/notrans] come together to make the singing duo [notrans]„Die Amazonen“[/notrans], check them out! I’m Obsessed! 1.905 meters above sea level is one heck of a location for any brunch, but add in some [notrans]drag[/notrans] and it’s unforgettable! Spectacular views, delicious brunch, stunning performances! [notrans]Drag[/notrans] performers [notrans]Vanessa Community[/notrans], [notrans]Naomi King[/notrans] and [notrans]Wally Quinn[/notrans] were unbelievable. Live singing, lip syncing, and spectacular choreography made for an amazing show! [notrans]Naomi King[/notrans] and [notrans]Wally Quinn[/notrans] also perform as a live singing group, called [notrans]„Die Amazonen“[/notrans]. Quite frankly, I’m obsessed. If you can’t get to a show, check them out on Spotify, you won’t regret it! These performers made sure to work the room, there was not a bad seat in the house! Let the Show Begin! After arriving, [notrans]Vanessa Community[/notrans] gave a brief introduction on how the brunch would play out. Then people filled their plates with delicious food, and had time to eat and socialize. All three performers, before the show and in breaks, took the time to sit at different tables and talk to everyone. They were so gracious and friendly, answering questions, telling stories and being their lovely selves! The artists performed a block of numbers, and then there was a break to continue eating. There were three performing blocks, with various constellations and of course outfit changes. [notrans]„Die Amazonen“[/notrans] even sang their new single, released Friday, and performed for us on Sunday! More, More, More … Please? My first question to organizer and performer [notrans]Vanessa Community[/notrans] was when will we be blessed with another [notrans]drag brunch[/notrans]? Vanessa, in cooperation with Seegrube, wants to make them a regular thing … but not too regular. The event was deliberately kept small, but there was so much demand that it sold out extremely quickly. I cannot recommend visiting a [notrans]drag show[/notrans] or [notrans]drag brunch[/notrans] enough. To say I had fun would be an understatement, I didn’t want the show to end! [notrans]Vanessa Community[/notrans], [notrans]Naomi King[/notrans] and [notrans]Wally Quinn[/notrans] are outstanding performers! ’Tis the season ... and [notrans]Vanessa Community[/notrans] dressed as the gift under the tree!
