Cozy up and stay warm
One thing I love about the weather turning colder, is the opportunity to pamper myself and get all warm and cozy! One of my favorite ways is to have a stay-cation in Tyrol and enjoy the many wellness hotels and resorts of the region: sauna, steam rooms, sometimes making it a weekend getaway in my own backyard and enjoying the hotel wellness packages. With some wellness getaways planned, Autumn can come! Two of my favorites are the Alpenresort Schwarz and the Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel, let me tell you why! Nestled in the Mieminger Plateau, both Alpenresort Schwarz and Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel offer exceptional wellness experiences, each with its own distinct charm.

Alpenresort Schwarz
In no particular order, let’s start with Alpenresort Schwarz. It is a 5-star luxury retreat mixing elegance and nature, a 5,500 m² spa, golf courses, and a stunning mountain backdrop, everything you could ask for! Whether for a solo escape, romantic getaway, or family vacation, its tailor-made experiences ensure every guest is taken care of. The resort also emphasizes wellness through its holistic spa, where 30 professionals offer treatments aimed at enhancing well-being and mindfulness, and regional and seasonal culinary delights, combined with breathtaking views.

Heartfelt Hospitality
What makes Alpenresort Schwarz truly special is its heartfelt hospitality. The owners view their relationships with guests and staff as central to the resort’s success, fostering a welcoming, family-like atmosphere. Many guests return year after year, drawn not just by the luxurious amenities but also by the personal connections they’ve made. The owners’ focus on building these relationships creates a warm, inviting environment, making every stay memorable.

Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel
Next we have the Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel, a smaller, eco-conscious haven. With just 100 beds, it offers a more intimate experience focused on sustainability and organic wellness. The hotel’s design highlights natural materials like wood and stone, creating a harmonious connection with nature. As a certified bio-wellness hotel, Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel exclusively uses organic food and bio-certified spa products, ensuring that everything is chemical-free. The hotel’s spa offers personalized relaxation for every guest. Its energy needs are met through solar power and geothermal energy, reflecting its deep commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Nature in Focus
Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel offers guests a blend of activity and relaxation, with yoga sessions, nature-focused programs, and tranquil spaces to recharge. The hotel’s motto, “Everything is allowed, nothing is required,” perfectly captures its philosophy of giving guests the freedom to unwind at their own pace. With organic meals, regional produce, and sustainable practices, Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel provides a guilt-free wellness retreat that aligns luxury with environmental consciousness. I celebrated my last birthday there!

So Many to Choose From
Both Alpenresort Schwarz and Holzleiten Bio-Wellnesshotel are honestly two of my favorite wellness destinations in Tyrol, but that is not where it ends. Tyrol gets cold, make sure you take the time to pamper yourself and get cozy on a wellness weekend of your own! You won’t regret it! Eco-conscious, personal, unforgettable, what are you waiting for!

In 2007, Laura completed her studies at an American university and applied for the Fulbright programme to be an English teacher in Germany or Austria. The wisest decision at this point: Austria! And the rest, as they say, is history.
