The Golden Roof Challenge in Innsbruck is just around the corner and it promises to be an exciting event. On Saturday, May 18, the 20th anniversary edition will take place, with official qualifying rounds for the Olympic Games in the pole vault and long jump.

The event now takes place in Maria-Theresien-Straße, as the space in front of the Golden Roof has simply become too small due to its ever-increasing popularity. However, the ambience has hardly changed, the alpine-urban feeling with the imposing Nordkette mountain range as a backdrop has remained the same.

The event has a certain significance, as it is considered the "home base" of the Golden Fly Series and has been part of the World Athletics Continental Tour since last year. This means that it is internationally recognized and is broadcast by over 90 TV stations worldwide, eight of which broadcast the event live and in full length.

Icarus Attack – OBI on fire

The highlight of the anniversary event on the mobile athletics facility The FlySwat will be the breathtaking fire show „ICARUS ATTACK – OBI on fire“ by the fire experts from Gloryfire, which will take place at the end of the competition. The name "ICARUS Attack" refers to the figure from Greek mythology, Icarus, who tried to climb the sky with wings made of feathers and wax. At the show, Austin Miller will be the first athlete to jump over a burning crossbar. Action guaranteed!
