You don't necessarily need the sound of the sea to experience that real beach feeling. In and around Innsbruck, between mountain panoramas, Inn and bathing lakes, you will find little oases of well-being where you can eat, drink and celebrate the summer with your feet (or almost) in the sand. In this article, I am delighted to take you to some of the best places by the water. And I'm sure: whether you're a family with small children or a real foodie - there's a suitable beach location for everyone!
The new Crazy Eddy - Same place, new vibe
Let's start in the Tyrolean Oberland - more precisely in Silz. This is where the Crazy Eddy - a place that is associated with many memories for me. After all, the "Eddy", as we called it, was a popular party location until the fall of 2009 - and much more. I like to think back to all those evenings when we partied in the open air with an Eristoff Ice in our hands. But instead of indulging in old memories, I would like to introduce you to the new Crazy Eddy - this time in its second generation. The building has largely remained the same, but the look and range of products have changed considerably. Perfect for me - because I'm less in the mood for parties nowadays, but all the more for family time. And that's exactly what the new Eddy is perfect for!

Time out on the Innstrand
For me personally, the most important reason why I think Crazy Eddy is so great is its location right on the Innstrand! Especially on hot days, I love - in the truest sense of the word - being close to the water super coolwhen you can be very close to the water. As our family has a very heat-sensitive dog who thinks he's a husky, a place where you can relax right by the water and let your four-legged friend cool off at any time is simply ideal. But more importantly, the Eddy is also a real paradise for children. There is a beach volleyball court, a slide, a sandpit - and plenty of space to run around.
A paradise for the whole family. elisabeth de Koekkoek

True beach feeling - more than just a destination
I hardly dare admit it - but we actually "traveled" by car. It would have been easy to get to Silz by train, and the walk from the station to the restaurant would certainly have been good for us. What's more, great cycling and inline skating routes run right through Silz - so it's Crazy Eddy so it's ideal for anyone who - unlike us - wants to take an active approach to their trip. This is the place to be if you want to recharge your batteries after a bit of physical exercise. But well - we didn't "work" for it, but the tarte flambée, chips, lemonade and spritzer still tasted delicious. By the way: If you like, you can also have breakfast at Eddy - my tip: book in advance! And anyway: If you're looking for a family-friendly, relaxed location right on the Innstrand - without any frills, but with lots of charm - head to Silz to Crazy Eddy!

Japanese fusion cuisine on Lansersee
From Silz we continue to Lans. In the charming village to the south of Innsbruck, you'll find the popular restaurant for locals and tourists, young and old alike Lansersee. Lake Lansersee is definitely worth a visit at any time of year. I particularly recommend that families take the Erlebnis-Waldbahn, line 6 - which is a little adventure in itself. But back to the essentials: the food! If you value fine dining, if regionality is important to you, if you like to dine with a view of the water and the mountains - and if you like Japanese fusion cuisine - you should definitely visit the Koi Bar restaurant.

In the field in the morning and on the menu at lunchtime. Farm to table
Admittedly, quality comes at a price - but most of what is served here comes directly from the surrounding area. And most of it really does come directly from Lans: vegetables and herbs are grown here - it doesn't get much fresher than that. The concept is called "farm to table", and you can taste it! My recommendation: try the cheesecake. It may sound simple, but trust me! The crispy base, the creamy, mild cream cheese layer and the fruity orange topping - a dream, especially on hot days. And what could go better with this than an ice-cold drink? Whether non-alcoholic or with a shot - the main thing is cold! At the Koi Bar, you will look in vain for swimming pool fries with ketchup and mayo - instead, you will find urban design, a relaxed bar culture, an informal and professional concept and, above all, really good, high-quality food with that certain something.
Nothing beats a really tasty cheesecake. elisabeth de Koekkoek

The Baggersee - Innsbruck's quick answer to the summer heat
The next restaurant I would like to introduce to you is the deck47 at the Rossau bathing lake - or simply "Baggersee", as the people of Innsbruck call it. One of the reasons for its popularity is certainly its easy accessibility: whether by bike or bus - you can be there in no time at all. Fancy a quick dip? Then let's go! And if your stomach is rumbling after a few swims, the deck47 is the perfect address. The restaurant is clearly visible on a slight hill on the northern bank and is hard to miss. Architecturally, it immediately catches the eye: named after the 47th parallel, it is designed like a ship and impresses with a covered panoramic terrace and a fantastic view over the entire lake.

The menu at deck47 includes delicious pasta and fish dishes, fresh salads, juicy burgers and, of course, traditional classics such as Schlutzkrapfen and a really good cordon bleu. My personal highlight? Without a doubt: the Pizza! Nothing tastes more like summer and vacation than a freshly baked stone oven pizza. If you're looking for real beach flair in the city, you should definitely stop by the quarry pond - and indulge in culinary delights at deck47.
Freshly fished, freshly served
I've told you so much about eating by the water - but how about eating from the water? My colleague Lea has written a wonderful article about where to get the best fish around Innsbruck and where - if you want - you can even go fishing yourself. One of her tips: the restaurant Schwarzfischer in Stams. Be sure to check it out - it's worth it!
Now there's really only one thing left for me to do: wish you a wonderful summer! Enjoy it - preferably by the water, with a chilled drink in your hand and lots of good food.
Happy Summer!
