Autumn brings wonderful colors to the Tyrolean mountains and ... many new exhibitions to visit. For those who want to spend some time on culture, here is a selection of exhibitions in museums and galleries around the city.

Tamas Dezső makes the invisible visible

Through Jan. 6, 2026, the INN SITU exhibition space is featuring an exhibition by Hungarian artist Tamas Dezső Everything begins to flow. The internationally recognized artist turns his gaze to what seems insignificant: the forested terrains of the Tyrol and Vorarlberg, photographed in the four seasons and displayed as color negatives. The large-format diptychs show not spectacular landscapes, but the silent organic texture of moss, leaves, roots and light. The images appear as poetic microcosms in which time, transformation and the fragile balance of ecological systems become visible.
Tamas Dezső speaking about his art states, "I try to make the invisible visible, not through the image, but through the atmosphere." Dezső does not consider photography as mere documentation, but as a means of slowing down and approaching the essence of things in a contemplative way: a silent call for awareness and connection with the natural world.
Various events such as talks, concerts, guides... are also planned as part of the exhibition

A history of Tyrolean marching bands

Who knew Tyrol has more marching bands than municipalities. And their role in the social fabric is very important. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Blasmusikverband, the Tyrolean band music association, an exhibition at the Das Tirol Panorama museum in Bergisel tells the story of when and why band music gained this exceptional importance, taking a critical look at its history, its military roots, and the great significance this type of music still has in Tirol today.
"The seemingly ancient tradition of band music in Tyrol is more dynamic and multifaceted than many believe. The exciting evolution of this music in relation to social and political changes is the focus of the exhibition, along with testimonies from the many people, of all ages, who are enthusiastically part of a band today," explains curator Franz Gratl, head of the Ferdinandeum's music collection. The exhibition is open until July 6, 2026.

Mali Weil and the dream of interspecies diplomacy

Through November 18, 2025, Kunstraum Innsbruck is hosting Mali Weil's exhibition The mountain of advanced dreams.
Starting with an analysis of the relationships between humans and wolves in the Italian Alps and their significance as a prototypical model of human and nonhuman relationships in the Anthropocene, Mali Weil performatively explores the dimensions of influence of these relationships. The Mountain of Advanced Dreams is a visionary project that envisions a future society in which interspecies diplomacies are introduced. Through the further development of laws, politics, rituals, mythology and education, humans have managed to change their way of life, not without conflict. Through her art, Mali Weil contributes to imagining new forms of coexistence in which humans are no longer the privileged actors of "devouring. "
Mali Weil is an artistic platform formed by Elisa Di Liberato, Lorenzo Facchinelli and Mara Ferrieri, based in Trento.
On Nov. 8, 2025 at 8 p.m. at the Kunstraum you can attend the performance of Mali Weil For A Universal Diplomatic Training Curriculum.

An exhibition to train the brain ... while having fun

The audioversum is the interactive museum dedicated to the sense of hearing in Innsbruck. In addition to the permanent exhibit, the new interactive exhibit Brain Gym AI opened in September 2025.
Every day we count our steps, monitor our sleep, and analyze our nutrition, but our brain health is often overlooked.
The Brain Gym AI interactive exhibit invites visitors of all ages to train their brains in a fun way with specially developed exercises. In fact, mental skills such as concentration, responsiveness, logical thinking, orientation and coordination can be trained. The exhibition is developed in interactive stations, and the system that runs them, supported by artificial intelligence, adapts the exercises to the personal needs of individual visitors, creating a tailor-made itinerary.

Oskar Stocker and Luis Rivera for the culture of memory

Until Nov. 16, 2025, a large canvas by artists Oskar Stocker and Luis Rivera will stand on the facade of the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum. The work, previously displayed in 2024 in the Austrian parliament building in Vienna, features excerpts from the ancient Jewish Kaddish prayer, which is traditionally recited in memory of the dead. Eighty years after the end of World War II, the two Austrian artists present their reflection on the human need to pray for the dead as an act to cultivate their memory. And by placing the installation on the facade of a building, they transform the public space into a place of remembrance. Luis Rivera and Oskar Stocker add, "With this work we want to offer the opportunity to commemorate together the victims of National Socialism, but also all people who have suffered and are suffering violence because of their religion, culture or origin." A second work is on display in the cloister of the Folk Art Museum; here excerpts of the prayer are painted on a canvas lying on the ground and are covered with shards of glass.

34 objects for 34 stories of social injustice

At the Tyrolean Folk Art Museum, the exhibition Gerecht? Geschichten über soziale ungleichheiten: 34 objects from as many museums and collections in the European region of Tyrol-South Tyrol testify to 34 stories of social injustice by recontextualizing them to the present day. Each chapter of the exhibition is linked to an object and is introduced by a question, such as: Can you vote? Can you afford proper medical care? Who produces your everyday objects? Do you get paid adequately for your work? Among the objects on display is the dress Conchita Wurst wore at Lifeball in Vienna, introduced by the question: can you really be who you are? Or 17th-century ceramic tiles with traces of children's fingers that offer an opportunity to open up the topic of child labor. What other stories will testify to gilded pills, a flushing toilet, a weighing scale? The answers can be found in the exhibition.

Ahu Dural's works at the Kunstpavillon

An exhibition by German artist Ahu Dural is open until Jan. 10, 2026 at Kunstpavillon, an exhibition space adjacent to the Hofgarten. In her artistic practice, Ahu Dural addresses the interconnections between architecture, art history and design, integrating perspectives of gender theory and identity politics. As a sculptor, she transforms memories, stories, archival material and sketches into spatial constellations that open new narrative levels and make tangible an expanded culture of memory. Her biographical history and socialization serve as her catalyst, in which personal memories of childhood are condensed with traces of a history marked by industry and migration. For the exhibition at Kunstpavillon, Ahu Dural also traces an arc to the history of labor migration in Tyrol.
