Fresh, crisp, and “guat ” (= good, delicious)—that’s how I like the food that ends up on our table. That’s why I enjoy shopping at farm stands, market gardens, or farmers’ markets. In our neighboring town of Telfs, there are regular opportunities to buy high-quality products directly from the producers—whether at the “ Telfer Marktl ” or at the farmers’ market in front of the “ InntalCenter.”
Since May 2026, the pedestrian zone in Telfs has been transformed every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from May through October, into a lively gathering place for food lovers and anyone who appreciates local produce. The Telfs Farmers’ Market ( Telfer Marktl ) has enjoyed great popularity for years. It used to take place on the first Saturday of every month; today, the weekly event offers even more opportunities to purchase fresh food and artisanal products right on the spot and to chat with the vendors.
Chatting with the vendors and sampling the various products make a visit to the Telfer Marktl a truly special experience.
Regional Diversity
What makes the Telfer Marktl special to me is its diversity. The vendors come from the region—during my visit, for example, from Ampass, Inzing, Oberhofen, Rietz, Telfs, Wildermieming, Ötz and even from South Tyrol. Week after week, they bring their high-quality products to Telfs and ensure a wide variety of offerings.
I find it exciting that the same vendors aren’t there every week. You can check the Telfs municipal website to see who’s selling their goods on any given Tuesday: Telfer Marktl – Weekly Market in the Telfs Pedestrian Zone.
At the market stalls, visitors will find, among other things:
fresh vegetables and seasonal fruit
locally produced meat and sausage products
various cheese specialties
high-quality oils and spices
grain products, bread, and pastries
Handcrafted items and arts and crafts
A knife sharpener for sharp kitchen tools
The selection changes with the seasons, turning every visit to the market into a little journey of discovery.
The selection is diverse—the product range includes handicrafts, fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as dairy and deli products
More than just a market
To me, the Telfer Marktl is much more than just a place to shop. It’s a place to connect, where you run into familiar faces, catch up on the latest news, and get to know the people behind the products. For example, I learned that the proceeds from one stall go to a good cause. Stories like this show just how much passion and dedication go into each offering.
The personal atmosphere, the direct advice, and the short distance from producer to customer are what give the market its special charm. I also particularly appreciate the opportunity to sample many delicacies right on the spot: a piece of cheese here, a slice of sausage there, a fresh strawberry, or a sip of homemade juice. This turns shopping into an experience for all the senses.
The bright red of the strawberries, the lush green of the lettuce, and the aroma of savory bacon and freshly baked bread are a treat for all the senses.
A regular feature on the weekly calendar
Whether it’s for the weekly grocery run, a quick chat with neighbors, or a search for unique local delicacies—the Telfs Market has long been a regular part of the week for many. Every Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the pedestrian zone in Telfs invites you to experience local flavors with all your senses. It’s well worth a visit—for locals and visitors alike.
Every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., visitors to the Telfer Marktl in Telfs’ pedestrian zone can find a wide variety of products on offer.
Farmers' Market at the InntalCenter
If you can’t make it on Tuesdays, you’ll also find a wide selection of regional products and delicacies at the small but charming farmers’ market on the plaza in front of the Inntalcenter. It takes place every Thursday and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and also offers the opportunity to buy directly from the producers and chat with the stall owners.
I’m convinced that buying locally not only supports local businesses and farms but also ensures you get fresh, high-quality products with a traceable origin. That is exactly why I will continue to enjoy combining my shopping with a walk to Telfs—whether to the Telfer Marktl or the farmers’ market at the InntalCenter. For me, these markets are a wonderful example of how much quality, craftsmanship, and enjoyment can be found right on our doorstep.
The Telfer Marktl offers a variety of syrups, juices, and beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
