My favorite way to start the day is with coffee, but that's not enough - we need a really tasty breakfast to rock the day. And that's exactly what this post is about: I want to introduce you to the city's brunch hotspots. Whether it's during the week before a long day at work or a relaxed weekend - there's guaranteed to be something to suit every taste and every mood, from new and hip to classic and elegant.
Design meets indulgence: brunch at the hotel NALA
Let's start with a real highlight: the hotel NALA. Here, stylish design meets genuine comfort. In every corner, you can feel that the architects and designers have put their heart and soul into their work - not only in the individually designed rooms, but especially in the breakfast area. You eat with your eyes. And this is exactly where NALA manages to appeal to all the senses.
You eat with your eyes: At Hotel NALA, great importance is attached to style and design.
How nice to sit here - so cozy!
Everything once, please!
My personal recommendation: come really hungry - it's best to fast the day before. Unfortunately, I didn't do this and couldn't eat as much as I actually wanted to. Believe me, I really did eat a lot, but I would have loved to have eaten my way through the buffet several times. Because there really is everything your heart desires here. At the hotel NALA, brunch is still a real brunch experience - the perfect mix of breakfast and lunch. From fresh breads, croissants, cakes and sweet strudel variations to waffles, eggs and salmon to warm dishes such as gnocchi or lasagne: the selection is huge - and everything is incredibly delicious.
How many of these endlessly delicious poppy seed bites do you think I've eaten? Small spoiler: too many!
Shame on me: I had no more room for the waffles - so I'll have to come back!
How should you decide from this selection?
Whether sweet or savory - everything tastes so delicious!
Summit and Friends: Small, fine and really good
From the stylish hotel with its mega buffet, we move on to the next breakfast hotspot. However, everything is a little smaller here - both the selection and the restaurant. But that doesn't matter, because the quality is top. The Summit and Friends is well hidden between Maria-Theresien-Straße and Landhausplatz. One special feature: you can't make a reservation here - true to the motto "first come, first served". It makes a very hip, casual impression on me. This is also reflected in the menu: avocado on homemade sourdough bread, poached eggs, overnight oats with chia seeds, cocoa nibs and much more. The Summit and Friends is my tip for anyone looking for an individual store with really tasty breakfast options.
WILTEN: One location, two concepts
At first glance, WILTEN Brunch + Bar is a typical, modern breakfast restaurant - at least if you stop by in the morning. Things look different at night. Here, two concepts come together in one location: during the day, there are various brunch options, freshly baked bread, homemade juices and sodas, really tasty cakes and, of course, coffee. In the evening, Wilten is transformed into a casual bar.
Living room vibes
My impression: Like most brunch places, it's perfect if you want to spend quality time with your loved ones and enjoy a delicious breakfast. But I also think it's ideal if you're looking for a relaxed place to work or study. If the ceiling is falling on your head at home and the fridge is empty anyway, a change of scenery is good. Especially if you treat yourself to a creamy cappuccino and a slice of blueberry cake - it makes it much easier to work. The latter is definitely my recommendation: really tasty, fluffy and simply mega good.
Really cozy: the Wilten Brunch + Bar
You really should try this blueberry cake - and if you're clever, then with cream of course!
The new with that certain something: Whisper.Inn
The Whisper.Inn in Innsbruck is brand new and definitely worth a visit. Perhaps some of you are thinking: Wow, another brunch restaurant - do we really need this? And I can answer this question with a resounding yes: We do! There can never be enough good breakfast places, especially when they are as beautifully and lovingly decorated as Whisper.Inn.
A place to feel good: The menu features our favorite brunch classics with a Turkish-Oriental touch.
New in town: the Whisper.Inn Innsbruck - brunch, breakfast & boho café ..
I don't know whether it's because it only opened recently or whether it's always like this, but there were flowers everywhere, so in addition to coffee, it also smelled wonderful. The Turkish-Oriental touch is particularly noticeable at Whisper.Inn. For example, the "2 Croissant Benedict" is refined with sucuk cubes and Muhammara spread. The menu includes delicacies such as the classic Turkish egg dish Menemen with Simit (the well-known and extremely tasty sesame curl), or poached eggs on a bed of yoghurt. And of course there is no shortage of desserts. Cakes, French toast with mascarpone cream or pancakes - to name just a few examples. I'm sure Innsbruck has been missing Whisper.Inn, and I hope you (and I) have plenty of time to sample the entire menu.
Fancy some really good coffee? Unbound Coffee Shop!
And last but not least: sometimes you don't need a big breakfast, you just need a really, really good coffee - because nothing works without it (at least for me). My recommendation: Unbound Coffee Shop in Innsbruck at Anichstraße. Of course, they don't just serve coffee, but also delicious cakes and bagels - and of course the obligatory matcha latte. From hand-brewed filter coffee and espresso to cappuccino and lovingly crafted latte art, coffee is clearly the focus here. Add a slice of carrot cake and the day can only be a good one.
Anyone who thinks vegan tastes bland has never tried this carrot cake at Unbound Coffee Shop Innsbruck
Good coffee is the name of the game!
More breakfast and brunch
As always, I hope I've been able to inspire you a little and that you're now as hungry for breakfast as I am. And even if that was just a small selection: Innsbruck's brunch scene has a lot more to offer. For example, you should definitely stop by the Heublume Wilten - The pancake raclette alone is an experience. You can read more about my visit to Heublume here. Or you can make a detour to the Blumencafé - beautiful. My breakfast bucket list also includes a visit to the Hotel Penz or the aDLERS. As you can see, I'm not running out of breakfast ideas any time soon - and hopefully neither are you.
