What does it take to have a really good time with the family? Sometimes not much - at least no glaring screens, no noise and no fuss. Sometimes all you need is a few hours of relaxation, good food, children playing and nature. That's exactly what you'll find at Hotel Der Stern in the beautiful Obsteig on the Mieminger Plateau. It's the perfect place to spend a few days with the family and get away from it all. But it doesn't have to be days - sometimes a few hours are enough. Because both the Stern-Schn(n)uppen children's adventure barn as well as the Sternentaucher eco indoor pool can be used by day guests, and I'm sure your children will have just as much fun as mine. A hotel with a history - and a future

Der Stern is no ordinary hotel. It looks back on over 500 years of hospitality history and around 20 generations. Originally, the family ran an inn at Fernpass until 1907, when they decided to try their luck on the beautiful Mieminger Plateau and, as you can see, with success. Perhaps the secret lies in their motto: „I schaug auf Di. Du schaugsch auf mi.“ (=I take care of you, you take care of me.) A phrase that has been passed down from generation to generation and still shapes the spirit of the hotel today. Because this is the only way to live true sustainability - honestly, respectfully and across the board. From the kitchen to the energy supply to the eco indoor pool, Der Stern shows that tradition and modernity can be wonderfully combined.

Indoor playground: Stern-Sch(n)uppen Kinder-Erlebnisstadel

I confess, I don't usually like indoor playgrounds that much. I usually find them too loud, too stuffy, too many stimuli. But that's the way it is - my children, like probably countless others, love them. With the Stern-Sch(n)uppen Kinder-Erlebnisstadel we have finally found an indoor playground that we all like. I've been here before - but back then alone, without children. Since I know their tastes and it can't be loud and shrill enough for them, I was a little worried that they might not like it or that it might simply be "too little". Far from it! They were thrilled and I had to promise them that we would definitely come back. Next time with their cousins - they really want to show them Stern-Schn(n)uppen.

A barn full of fun, games and adventure

The Stern-Sch(n)uppen Kinder-Erlebnisstadel is - as the name suggests - a real barn. But one with a spacious play area made entirely from natural materials - including wood, straw, light and lots of imagination. The rope park with a large climbing wall, the challenging course, high nets for jumping and chilling out and the rope slides are particularly cool. Attention: Please dress warmly in the cold season! Although the barn protects you from the wind and weather, it is kept at a natural temperature.

What to do in bad weather? Of course - off to the swimming pool! Well, that's probably not an insider tip. But the eco indoor pool at Stern but it is. It's an indoor pool that perfectly matches the values and standards of the hotel. Not an overheated indoor pool with the smell of chlorine, but a place of peace and relaxation. Of course, action is a must in a family hotel: Children can race down the Trioslide slide or jump off the "rocks" into the large pool, while the little ones splash around in the non-swimmers' area. And what could be nicer than relaxing with the family in the eco swimming pool after a hike - with a view of the meadows, the mountains of the Mieminger Kette and the beautiful nature of the sunny plateau?

But before you go to the Stern-Sch(n)uppen or the eco-swimming pool, you will inevitably come across the Petting zoo zoo. This is also located directly behind the hotel - as is a spacious playground with a mega climbing frame and Flying Fox. I also found the Bobby Car race track particularly cute. My boys have actually been out of this age group for a long time, but before we went to the Stadl, we still had to have a quick race on the mini cars. I couldn't resist saying hello to the cute ponies and goats. Although we were "only" day guests rather than hotel guests, we had a great time - and, as I said, we plan to come back very soon.

"Day spa" vacation for one day

If you want, you can spend just one or two hours at Hotel Der Stern, go for a swim or use the adventure playground Sternsch(n)uppen. But there are also great "Day spa" offers for families - a vacation for a day, so to speak! I've already told you how thrilled my boys were - so we'll definitely be back, but then for the whole day. There are two attractive options for families: The Family Day „Passt guat“ you can make flexible use of the Stern's entire family infrastructure, from the eco indoor pool to the adventure play barn and the petting zoo to the panorama sauna. The garden or the pub invite you to linger.
