The route by bike
From Innsbruck's city center, we follow the cycle path along the Inn. The blue water and colorful trees make the start particularly pleasant. As far as Zirl, we cycle along with almost no incline - perfect for warming up. In the town, we cycle briefly along the road through the center before turning onto Hochzirler Straße. From here it gets steep for the first time.
After a few hairpin bends, we turn right just before a parking lot onto a gravel or forest path. We follow this further uphill. The route leads us through the forest with gentle climbs and small downhills.
At first, the forest path remains moderate, but after about two thirds of the route - when your legs are getting a little tired - it picks up strongly. Now it's time to bite through and pedal hard. The thought of the apple strudel at the hut is particularly motivating.
The last two hairpin bends are flatter again and the clearing can already be seen through the trees. It gets brighter - and suddenly you are standing in front of the hut, which is smiling at you in the sun.
