No car? No problem!

Innsbruck is such a unique place, an urban, alpine city where you can see people strolling through town with skis over their shoulders the second the weather turns cold! The most normal sight with the mountains so close. Innsbruck is also a gateway to some of Austria's finest ski resorts. And the best part? You don’t need to worry about how to get there!

No car, no problem - t
hanks to Innsbruck’s free Ski Bus service, you can easily hit the slopes without the hassle of parking or long drives.

If you're staying in Innsbruck and have the Welcome Card, the Ski Bus ensures that getting to the mountains is both simple and completely free of charge. You will receive the
Welcome Card free of charge if staying in approved/partner accommodation in the region, making it easy for you to explore the surrounding ski resorts.

If you live in Innsbruck and/or don't have a Welcome Card then you can still use specific ski busses free of charge under certain conditions - read below for the details - or for a small charge.

A Convenient and Stress-Free Way to Ski

You don’t have to book a stay at a ski resort to enjoy the slopes, you can enjoy a city trip to Innsbruck and be off to the slopes at your pleasure. It really is the best of both worlds. Thanks to the Ski Bus, getting from Innsbruck to the surrounding ski resorts has never been easier. Whether you're heading to Axamer Lizum, Stubai Glacier, or Kühtai, the Ski Bus offers daily connections that make your ski day seamless.

You can catch the Ski Bus from several points in the city, including the main train station, which serves as the central hub for many departures. The service operates in the mornings and afternoons, allowing you to make the most of your ski day. There’s no need to worry about finding parking or navigating snowy mountain roads, any of it!. It’s the perfect way to enjoy both the city and the slopes with ease.

How to Use the Innsbruck Ski Bus

Using the Ski Bus is a breeze.

If you are a guest on holiday in the region:

Simply grab your Welcome Card (which you’ll receive when you check into your hotel) and your ski gear, and head to one of the designated bus stops around the city. Departure times are available at your hotel’s reception, so you'll always know when to head out to catch your ride. The bus is free, but be sure to make your group reservation early (via your hotel reception) if you’re traveling with a larger party.

If you are a local and/or don't have a Welcome Card:

You can use the ski bus lines 412 to Axamer Lizum, 420 to Kühtai, 414 to Muttereralm and J to Nordkette and Patscherkofel for free IF you are in winter sports clothes and/or with winter sports equipment and/or have a lift pass for the respective lift.
