The free ski bus in Innsbruck
Stay in the city with all of its benefits and ride to the ski resort of your choice for free in the morning. Our free ski bus service runs from Innsbruck to the resorts in the surrounding region. On this page, we've put together an overview of the bus connections available for skiers staying in Innsbruck.
Some of the ski buses start at the main train station in Innsbruck. To get there, you can use our shuttle service, which is also free of charge. It stops in the morning and afternoon at various points throughout the city, which we've listed on this page. Simply get to the stop on time with your ski equipment and Welcome Card. For groups of 28 people or more, it is essential to book by phone early the day before at the absolute latest. A separate bus is then provided.
The departure times are available from the reception of your hotel in Innsbruck. In the evening, you can take the transfer shuttle from the main train station back to the hotel.
Express buses Stubai Glacier, Axamer Lizum, Schlick 2000

The express buses run directly from the city of Innsbruck to the valley lift stations at the Stubai Glacier, Axamer Lizum or Schlick 2000 and back without stopping.

The SKI plus CITY Pass is not valid for the use of line 590. Vouchers for the free use of the ski bus 590 to the Stubai Glacier are available at the reception of various hotel partners, at Innsbruck Information and at the ski rental "Die Börse". The direct bus to the Stubai Glacier can be used without a voucher and is free of charge with SKI plus CITY.

Skibuses Nordkette and Patscherkofel
The J bus operated by the IVB (Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe) takes winter sports enthusiasts directly from the centre of Innsbruck to the ski areas of the Innsbrucker Nordkettenbahnen and Patscherkofelbahn (terminus).
The J bus operates:
- Monday to Friday every 10 minutes
- Saturday and Sunday every 15 minutes
