Innsbruck – well connected

Many trains and coaches stop at Innsbruck’s main train station, especially from Austria, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. This makes the region easily accessible via public transport. Our map provides an overview of the available connections for your journey.

Direct connections at a glance

Innsbruck also offers numerous direct train connections, including Vienna (16 times daily), Frankfurt (7 times daily) and Venice (twice daily). A document providing a clear overview is available here.

   

A relaxing journey

Travelling by train? Perfect! With 22 train stations in the Innsbruck region, you can get almost anywhere by rail. The two largest hubs are Innsbruck’s main train station and the Ötztal train station, which offer ideal connections to places like Kühtai and the Mieming Plateau. The station shuttle facilitates onward travel, while luggage services and lockers ensure your belongings are always in good hands. In addition to regular connections, there are also a few special services designed to provide even more comfort for your train journey to Innsbruck.

  • ÖBB Austrian Federal Railways

    If you are travelling to Innsbruck’s main train station, you get ten percent off the Innsbruck Card (48 hours). Additionally, the ÖBB Plus ticket offers discounted leisure activities in combination with your train journey.
  • WESTbahn

    If you’re travelling with WESTbahn, it’s worth getting the Innsbruck Card, as it gives you a ten percent discount on WEST standard priced tickets for you and up to three fellow travellers.
  • Nightjet to the mountains

    From May to October, the ÖBB "Nightjet to the Mountains" ticket includes your train journey, a transfer to your accommodation and the komoot route planning app’s World Pack.
  • Deutsche Bahn: SummerRail

    From April to October, DB trains travel directly to Innsbruck as part of the Deutsche Bahn’s SummerRail service. There are eight connections to choose from, for travel both day and night.
  • European Sleeper

    From February to March, the European Sleeper makes travel a dream on its overnight journeys from Brussels via Cologne to Innsbruck.
  • Nightjet

    The ÖBB’s Nightjet service promises a peaceful and private overnight train experience to the Innsbruck region.
  • Snälltåget

    The Swedish night train Snälltåget runs from Stockholm to the capital of Tyrol, providing an eco-friendly way to travel from the far north to the heart of the Alps.
  • HolidayExpress

    Travel by rail and take your own four wheels with you: the Urlaubsexpress (HolidayExpress) night train allows passengers to bring their cars along on the journey, with routes running from Hamburg or Düsseldorf to Innsbruck.
  • Deutsche Bahn: WinterRail

    From November to March, Deutsche Bahn’s WinterRail service offers numerous direct connections to Innsbruck, making it quick and easy to get to the snow during the winter season.
