Magical Light Park in Innsbruck´s Hofgarten
In Innsbruck, LUMAGICA lights up a very special part of the city: the historic Hofgarten Imperial Gardens near the historic old town. Six themed areas portraying different elements from the history of the Imperial Gardens – from the archdukes' historical pleasure garden and the zoo that housed the imperial "menagerie" to the garden that once surrounded the now long-gone Ruhelust Castle – are linked by a one-kilometre-long circular path. Visitors are sure to be enchanted as they stroll past the mythical creatures and other luminous installations, surrounded by spherical sounds and embedded in the extraordinary natural winter setting of the gardens at night, a stark contrast to the mountains that rise up all around the city.
Over 300 light sculptures, ranging from cute forest dwellers and geometric shapes to majestic deer and lions, are just waiting to be discovered, as well as light displays set to music, dramatic video projections and interactive light stations. For many, the festive lighting that adorns Innsbruck during the Advent and Christmas periods is one of the highlights of this special season. This winter, the city will shine even more brightly: MK Illumination – the world leader in seasonal and festive lighting concepts – is paying a very special tribute to its home town: LUMAGICA Innsbruck, a magical light park in Innsbruck's Imperial Gardens that will make the heart of the city sparkle for two months.
The light park LUMAGICA Innsbruck in the Hofgarten Innsbruck will take place from December 2020 to 14.02.2021 daily (except 24 December). Start 5.30 pm and 7 pm.
