A beautiful circular hike in Axamer Lizum to the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut with its stunning views.
The hike starts from Axamer Lizum car park and leads past the bottom lift station of the Birgitzköpfllift chairlift, following the edge of the forest towards the Birgitzeralm (signposted Butterbründlsteig), before climbing gently uphill through the forest to the Birgitzer Alm mountain hut (1,808 m). From there, the route heads south and climbs right up to the Birgitzköpflhaus mountain hut at an altitude of 2,098 metres above sea level. From the Birgitzköpflhaus, you can either take the Birgitzköpfllift chairlift back down to the valley or continue south on foot, following the route gently downhill to Halsl (1,992 m) and then along the Halslsteig trail back to Axamer Lizum car park – walking time: approx. 3.5 hours
