Hiking to the very top
Are you a mountaineering fanatic? Or would you like to become one? If so, you're in the right place! We'll show you the most beautiful summit tours in the Innsbruck area. Not all of the peaks are difficult to reach and they don’t all require top mountaineering skills.
You don't have to be a mountaineering great like Reinhold Messner to conquer some of the local peaks. Here we have put together an overview of two easy summit tours.
These tours combine the uplifting feeling of reaching the summit with a comfortable journey there. The magic word is: "Bergbahn". Because where there is a mountain lift or cable car, you only have to complete the last stretch of the route up to the summit cross yourself. Then nothing stands between you and the perfect hiking experience.

A beautiful summit tour you are sure to rave about with truly stunning views.
Take the Peter-Anich gondolas first to Stiglreith at 1,363 metres above sea level and then up to Sulzstich at 1,560 metres above sea level. If the lifts are closed, you can hike up the forest road from the car park in Stiglreith (fees apply) at 1,383 metres above sea level to Sulzstich at 1,560 metres above sea level (walking time 40 minutes). The route passes a picturesque reservoir and continues until the last bend below the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. From there you can see the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut (not open to the public) off in the distance, the mighty Rosskogel mountain and the Kögele to the left of it. Turn left and follow the yellow signs towards the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut, first along an idyllic trail past hay barns to the Krimpenbachsattel (1,899 m) and then south along a forest road to the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut (1,918 m). This hut is not open to the public. From there, the route continues south across beautiful alpine pastures dotted with mountain flowers, following the signs uphill to the summit cross on Kögele (2,195 m). Stunning views guaranteed.
The hike follows the same route back as far as the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut and then continues along a forest road to the rustic Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. From there, you can hike back down to Stiglreith along the forest road or alternatively follow the ski slope, past the reservoir lake and down the Ghost Trail to Stiglreith.
