Romantically situated on the old Roman road on the sunny plateau above the olympic town of Innsbruck, next to the Patscherkofel, where Franz Klammer won the olympic downhill race, lies the Hotel Grünwalderhof.
Once the hunting lodge of the" Counts of Thurn und Taxis", the postmasters general in the Tyrol, this hotel is nowadays still in the property of the Thurn and Taxis family but now run by the Ribis family.
Committed to tradition and receptive to modernity this pleasant and comfortable house provides its guests with a select atmosphere and first-class services, as well as a sunny panorama terrace with a superb view of the unique Tyrolean mountain world. Both, foreigners and residents, enjoy the Grünwalderhof because of its excellent restaurant, serving international dishes as well as typically tyrolean specialities.
For skiing, walking, golfing or cultural holidays Patsch and its surroundings offer visitors a wide variety of sports, leisure amenities and entertainment to suit every wish throughout the year. There also is a wonderful playground for our little guests in the forest right behind our hotel, and our tourist offices offer free walking-tours with trained guides for children, but also their parents should not miss this good opportunity to get to know our wonderful landscape. For our sportsmen there starts a great mountainbikeroute up to the "Almen" of the Patscherkofel mountain.
