Frente a la oficina de turismo de Kühtai, detrás de la casa Wiesenberghaus, empieza el ligero ascenso dirección este al lago Hirschebensee (2.164 m). A partir de este punto, el camino es algo más empinado hasta llegar al lago Mittlerer Plenderlessee (2.317 m) antes de llegar al refugio Drei-Seen-Hütte (refugio de los tres lagos). El camino de vuelta más fácil va del refugio hasta el desvío situado justo debajo del telesilla y luego sigue el mismo trayecto que el telesilla.
