Food delivery, deliveryando, mjam, takeaway, takeaway please - phrases and words we've certainly used a lot over the last year. I can only vaguely remember what it was like to order in a restaurant and - it seems so surreal - to actually eat there: at a table, inside, with friends, no mask, no safety distance. But well, that's how it is now, times are changing again. And quite honestly: I think there's something about eating comfortably at home without having to cook myself first. Cozy up on the couch in your pajamas, Netflix and a pizza, that (still) sounds like a perfect evening to me. Or (and now let's assume Corona is history) you have friends over and are too lazy to cook. Or you've booked "self-catering accommodation" on holiday. Or one of my favorite reasons: You host a picnic. No matter the reason, taking food with you or having it delivered is always a good idea. I'll introduce you to four places in Innsbruck where I've had particularly good experiences. By the way, they assured me that they still offer delivery service or takeaway after Corona.

THE BEST PIZZA - I PROMISE!

Pizza goes always and everywhere. For me there is no bad, only good, very good and excellent! You definitely get the latter at the Pizzerei. I tend to exaggerate, I know, but the pizza from the Pizzerei is really one of the best in all of Austria. If you want to enjoy it at home, you have two options: Pick up or get the DIY pizza package from the pros. "It's important to us that our guests can enjoy their pizza at home in exactly the same quality they're used to in our restaurant. We can't guarantee that with delivery service," Dunja from the pizzeria tells me. That's why they offer takeaway, so the pizza comes straight from the oven to the customer - without any detours. Call, order and pick up around 15 minutes later, it's that simple.

For all those who like to make their own pizza, but prefer the taste of the pizza maker, the pizzeria has something very special: Pizza in teglia. You get all the ingredients including the dough. At home you put everything on the tray, put it in the oven and the pizza is ready - homemade. This would be a great idea for a romantic evening for two, when you want to impress your date. Or even great for a cooking session with friends - post corona of course. Would you like some professional tips? Then you are on the safe side with the YouTube step-by-step instructions of the pizzeria.

You can find all the info, opening hours, map, weekend specials and much more on the pizzeria 's Facebook page.

BREAKFAST IN BED

The most important meal of the day? Breakfast, that's for sure! If you see it the same way I do and like to celebrate it properly, then Immerland is the place for you. For all those who like to spend their Saturday mornings comfortably at home, preferring not to lift a finger, but don't want to do without a breakfast like in the pub, I have good news: Immerland delivers the "immerbrunchbox" directly to your door every Saturday. Perfect for late risers: You can easily order via the app mjam, delivery starts at 11:00 am. You can alsoorder the brunch boxthe day before directly from the restaurant and then pick it up freshly packed at the desired time. You'll have to leave your apartment to do so, but a short walk will get your circulation going. Breakfast will taste twice as good. Lunch, coffee and cake are also available Tuesdays to Fridays from 11:00 to 14:00 to go or via mjam.

CAKE ALWAYS GOES

Let's stay in the Wilten district, where Immerland is also located. Here you'll find Verena's Café, which opened just before the first Lockdown (oh my god, who would have thought back then that there would be more than one). All those who are in the area and fancy a slice of really good cake should make a stop here. Rice pudding, porridge and cakes are all available to take away. Why not treat yourself and enjoy a slice of cake (just because) - alone or with friends, at home or at a picnic in the park? I think cake is always good, you don't treat yourself to anything else!

VEGANS, VEGETARIANS AND MEAT EATERS - BOWLS FOR ALL

If you're not a sweet tooth or just fancy a salad, green bowls, curries or a fresh juice, the mouthful is the place to be. There is enough choice for vegetarians and vegans and even - surprise - my children liked it. I was a bit sceptical, as they are quite fussy, but the noodles with chicken were just to their taste. Maybe it was also because with the luscious sauce, they ended up not being quite as healthy and light as expected, but all the better for it. I was also very pleased with my vegan curry. If you get hungry after a sightseeing tour through Innsbruck, just stop by Mundvoll. Do it like us, grab a bowl to go and sit down in the Hofgarten. I highly recommend such a picnic. By the way, this is also a great idea for your lunch break!

Whatever the reason, delivery services and takeaways will still be used after the lockdown and quite rightly so. Why should we do without this service?
