summer ticket to happiness

Summer is finally here, warm weather perfect for the splendid nature and activities surrounding Innsbruck! So, I thought we would go through my Top 5 Tips for the Welcome Card! What is the Welcome Card, you ask? It is your summer ticket to happiness! A guest card for people staying in the Innsbruck region, valid from May 1st until October 31st, to make sure you have plenty of time to see everything there is to see! There are so many services included in the Welcome Card: free public transport, free lift rides up the mountains, various activities and so much more.

A two night stay at various establishments comes with so many perks, a third night adds more and you can also pay to upgrade the Welcome Card and reap even more benefits! Check out the full list here. However, here would be my Top 5 Tips for using your Welcome Card!

Tip 1: City Bike for 24 hours

The Welcome Card offers 24 hours of Innsbruck City Bikes for free! It won’t take you long to figure out that the city of Innsbruck has a lot of bikes! It is often the best way to get around! Especially if you want to go in the city center, where sometimes parking can be tough, or cars aren’t allowed. Not too long ago City Bikes were introduced to Innsbruck. I take my bike everywhere, and with the Welcome Card you can feel like a local!

Tip 2: Area 47 Water Park

Enjoy ten percent off the Area 47 Water Park or upgrade your Welcome Card to gain one time admission. Get launched from a Blob, take a plunge off the giant water slide, or zip down in a Hydrobob, you can’t go wrong if you’re looking for a thrill. This water park is 20.000 square meters of fun. Get launched from a water cannon, make your way up a climbing wall and fall off into water. It is one of my favorite summer time locations, and it is made so easy with the Welcome Card!

Tip 3: FlipLab

Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate for your trip to Innsbruck, there is still plenty to see and do. With the Welcome Card you get 20 percent off at FlipLab. Fun for all ages, this indoor trampoline park is great to burn some energy. Obstacle courses, jumps and so much space!

Tip 4: Swarovski Crystal Worlds

The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are a must see in Tyrol! With the standard Welcome Card you receive two Euros off, or upgrade for a one time entry. There is always something to marvel at when you visit the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. Under the watchful gaze of the friendly giant, you can go inside his mind, stroll around the gardens and enjoy amazing food at the restaurant. It’s a fantastic day trip if you’re in the area!

Tip 5: Natterer See

The Welcome Card offers so many discounts and perks to get the full Tyrol experience! There are lots of swim spots to choose from, my tip would be the Natterer See, which is 50 percent off with the card! In my opinion, one of the best parts of Tyrol is the nearness to nature. Forests and lakes are a stone’s throw away, and they are all slightly different. The Natterer See has inflatable obstacles to climb all over.

Bonus Tip: Summer Active Programme

Those who need even more inspiration should take a look at the Summer Active Programme, which can only be taken advantage of with the Welcome Card – and it’s free. With several guided hikes and e-bike tours in the Innsbruck region, there is something to suit every taste.

Make sure you take advantage of all the Welcome Card has to offer! Don’t forget to download the digital Welcome Card to be able to tote it around more easily.
