TOURS, TRAILS & CHEESE DUMPLINGS

That is mountain biking in Innsbruck. First you pedal hard uphill. Then you enjoy a summer bike stop at one of the many mountain huts and alpine restaurants that are often located right on the route or may even be your destination. Refuelling à la Innsbruck: Kaspressknödel cheese dumplings. Are your calves burning? If so, simply relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains a little longer before getting back on the saddle.

The local Sistrans tour to the authentic Sistranser Alm mountain hut.

The tour starts with a gentle ascent through the village of Sistrans to the edge of the forest (car park) followed by a continuous winding climb with hairpin bends to the Sistranser Alm mountain hut. From there, you can reach the Aldranser Alm mountain hut by following the Almenweg 1600 trail slightly downhill.

Our tip: if you want to cover even more vertical metres, you can continue along a moderately steep path through the high forest to the panoramic Isshütte mountain hut (not open to the public).
