The plot of the ballet is based on the fantastical tale by the German Romantic writer E.T.A. Hoffmann, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.”
The story of a young girl who receives a nutcracker as a gift and dreams that it will transform into a fairy-tale prince captivates audiences of all ages around the world. For a few hours, you are transported from everyday life into the romantic and imaginative world of dreams and longings. After the guests have left on Christmas Eve, Clara returns to her presents. There she falls asleep. At midnight, the nutcracker and the dolls come to life, and Clara suddenly finds herself in the midst of a magical world. Snowflakes and dancing flowers accompany the girl on her journey to the realm of the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy. An enchanting Christmas fairy tale that delights ballet fans of all ages at every performance.
