GPX DownloadRoute to startThis scenic hike starts from the valley station of the Muttereralmbahn cable car on a well-maintained forest path that winds gently uphill through meadows and forests. The trail begins to the left of the valley station and leads past the idyllically situated Nockhöfe farms, where the first beautiful view can be enjoyed.
From here, you follow the toboggan run uphill, which winds pleasantly through the forest and repeatedly opens up beautiful views of the Inn Valley. After a steady ascent, you reach the Muttereralm at 1,608 metres. The Mutterer Alm adventure restaurant awaits hikers here, inviting them to stop for a bite to eat with regional specialities. For families, there is a large adventure playground that provides fun and variety.
Just a few minutes' walk above the alpine pasture is the reservoir, from where you can enjoy a wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. If you want to hike further, you can join the Innsbrucker Almenweg from here and continue either towards Axamer Lizum or the Stubaital.
On the way back, we recommend taking the Muttereralmbahn cable car down into the valley and enjoying the view once again.
