From Oberperfuss to Rietz and the Peter-Anich-Hütte mountain hut.

This hike starts at an altitude of 1,383 metres above sea level in the car park in Stiglreith. You can get to the car park by taking the panoramic Panoramastraße road, which branches off to the right from Oberperfuss Berg. If the lifts are running, you can take the gondola up to Sulzstich and save yourself 40 minutes of walking time. The first section of the hike follows trail no. 155 to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut (1,777 m), where you can stop in for a break and a bite to eat. The walking time from Stiglreith to the Rosskogelhütte is about 1¼ hours. From there, the route continues along a forest road to the Krimpenbachsattel at 1,899 m, before following a trail down to the Inzinger Alm mountain hut (also known as the Hundstalalm) at 1,641 m. The hut offers food and accommodation. The section from Stiglreith to the Inzinger Alm mountain hut can be completed in a good 2½ hours. From the Inzinger Alm, the hike continues up along a trail past the little "Alpl" hut to the highest point of the tour, the Rauher Kopf peak at an altitude of 2,302 metres above sea level. From there, the alpine trail heads west and then downhill to the south, before following a stream to the Flaurlinger Alm mountain hut, which is located at an altitude of 1,613 metres above sea level and is another place where you can replenish your energy levels and stay overnight. The walking time from the Inzinger Alm to the Flaurlinger Alm is about 3½ hours.

From the Flaurlinger Alm, the route leads further into the valley for a short distance to the neighbouring Oberhofer Galtalm mountain hut, which also offers food and accommodation. Behind the hut, a path leads uphill to the west and then turns to continue north, mostly across the slope, to the dilapidated Neuburger Hütte. Walking time 1½ hours. From there, you follow the trail down to the Pfaffenhofer Alm mountain hut (also known as the Widdersberger Alm) at 1,694 metres above sea level. This hut also offers food and accommodation. Walking time about 30 minutes.

The final section of this hike leads up through the forest, due to a rock fall partially on a temporary path, to the picturesque Peter-Anich-Hütte mountain hut (1,910 m), where you can enjoy a bite to eat and spend the night.

Highlights: The Peter-Anich-Höhensteig trail links the northern Stubai Alps and stays up high, giving hikers the opportunity to enjoy fresh mountain air the whole way. The trail is named after Peter Anich, who was a cartographer and probably the region's most famous son. The Anich Hueber Museum in Oberperfuss is open on request. The route is marked and signposted throughout as the Peter-Anich-Höhensteig. The hike takes you through wonderful high alpine landscapes with unique views. Water bottles can be filled at the huts with the purest spring water.
