Summit Tours

Hiking to the very top

Are you a mountaineering fanatic? Or would you like to become one? If so, you're in the right place! We'll show you the most beautiful summit tours in the Innsbruck area. Not all of the peaks are difficult to reach and they don’t all require top mountaineering skills.

You don't have to be a mountaineering great like Reinhold Messner to conquer some of the local peaks. Here we have put together an overview of two easy summit tours.

These tours combine the uplifting feeling of reaching the summit with a comfortable journey there. The magic word is: "Bergbahn". Because where there is a mountain lift or cable car, you only have to complete the last stretch of the route up to the summit cross yourself. Then nothing stands between you and the perfect hiking experience.

Find the perfect mountain peak here

Some summit tours only require a short hike, the rest of the route is covered by a mountain lift or cable car. To see these summit tours, choose "easy" in the filters below.

Are you looking for the ultimate mountaineering experience? Would you like to reach the summit under your own steam? If so, choose "difficult". The results will then show routes for experienced mountaineers with good fitness levels.

This impressive mountain hike starts at an altitude of 1,383 metres above sea level in the car park (fees apply) in Stiglreith. You can get to the car park by taking the panoramic Panoramastraße road, which branches off to the right from Oberperfuss Berg. If the Bergbahnen Oberperfuss gondolas are running, we recommend taking the gondola up to Stiglreith and then Gondola II from there up to Sulzstich at 1,560 m. This saves you 40 minutes by cutting out the hike from Stiglreith to Sulzstich. The route starts by following the road towards the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut. When you come to the last bend before the hut, follow the yellow signs to the Krimpenbachalm. This idyllic trail leads through alpine pastures with views of Rosskogel mountain. From the Krimpenbachsattel col (1,899 m), experienced hikers with alpine experience and a good head for heights can follow the trail that leads up to the summit of Rosskogel mountain (2,646) via the north ridge. The ridge is a steep climb but the views from the summit make it well-worth the effort. The three-thousand-metre-high peaks of the Stubai Valley feel close enough to touch and the Lüsens Valley is a real eye-catcher directly opposite. To the left and right are many other mountains that are predominantly ski touring destinations. The recommended descent leads east via the "Schartl" col to the Krimpenbachalm mountain hut (not open to the public) and then along a forest road to the Rosskogelhütte mountain hut, which is a good place to take a break. The stunning scenery and views of the Rosskogel mountain make the food and drink at the hut taste even better. From there, the route has great views as it continues down the ski slope to the reservoir and then follows the Geisterwanderweg Ghost Trail back to the starting point in Stiglreith.
