A challenging and varied circuit through fields, forests and meadows.
The route starts on Bilgeristraße road at the former bottom lift station of the Patscherkofelbahn cable car. First follow the signs for the "Lanser-Kopf-Loop Zulauf" (access route for the Lanser Kopf Loop). The route leads downhill, past the Kneipp therapy facility and straight on along the Viller Steig trail to the Viller Moor. Shortly before reaching the village of Vill, turn right and shortly afterwards left to follow the path uphill towards the forest. From there, follow the signs "Lanser Kopf Loop". After a short but intensive climb along forest trails, the route leads back downhill to the Poltenhütte farmhouse. After the Poltenhütte, take the middle path to Tantegert. From Tantegert, the route leads slightly uphill again through the forest or follows the edge of the forest towards the village of Aldrans. Before reaching Aldrans, the route leads downhill along a short, steep paved road to the Mühlbach stream and then follows the stream slightly uphill to Mühlsee lake. From the Mühlsee, a short steep section leads uphill to the golf course. Cross the golf course and then continue steeply uphill to the highest point of the route. Continue to the north of the Lanser Kopf, heading west along forest paths, before rejoining a previous section of the route for a short distance. From there, turn left downhill towards Lanser See lake. Continue past the Lanser See and then turn right and follow the route through the Viller Moor marshland to the Kneipp therapy facility. From there, head slightly uphill back to the starting point at the former Patscherkofel lift station.
