Stams Abbey presents its treaures:

the medieval walls contain countless collections, and the museum brings the centuries-old history of the abbey to life. But it's not only splendour to be seen here, as the collection also includes fascinating items giving a real insight into the abbey's everyday life. A mystery that was once inaccessible.

Gold, art and science

Just as fascinating are the scientific treasures, such as a 16th-century globe and an astronomical table from the 15th century. Antique musical instruments can also be viewed, along with portraits, ornate gold jewellery and religious tunicles. Did you know that Stams Abbey once provided the whole area with medical assistance? The earlier abbey pharmacy is testament to those days, with its painted cabinets, windows and diverse equipment giving an insight into the art of healing from that time.
