La ruta transcurre por el camino nº 145 a Gleirschjöchl, luego por el llamado “Schneeloch” (agujero en la nieve) al valle Zwieselbachtal al refugio Schweinefurter Hütte a más de 2.000 metros.
Esta etapa de la ruta tiene un desnivel positivo de 440 metros y un desnivel negativo de 715 metros. Tiempo a pie: 4 horas
Otra entrada a la ruta: desde Umhausen-Niederthai en el valle Ötztal por el valle Horlachtal al refugio Schweinfuter Hütte (tiempo a pie: 2 horas)
