Del centro de Stams seguir por la calle asfaltada hasta la aldea Weiler Hauland, luego iniciar el ascenso por el camino forestal. El camino no es muy empinado y presenta muchas curvas, luego se allana y sigue bastante recto. Cruzar el arroyo Stamser Bach y seguir su curso montaña arriba hasta el refugio Stamser Alm. Al lado del refugio hay una atractiva capilla de estilo rococó con una casa de caza y un pequeño lago.
El refugio de montaña Stamser Alm está cerrado temporalmente.
