Innsbruck is worth a trip in all seasons, and each is unique and special in its own right. In winter Innsbruck offers numerous possibilities, be it extensive winter hikes, skiing, cross-country skiing or sightseeing and culture in the city. Numerous events allow for variety, and the winter scenery adds to the wonder.
But see for yourself in my new photo love story - pictures instead of many words.
Walk on the Inn
A winter walk in fresh snow along Innsbruck's long Inn promenade is always a good idea. It's best to take your camera with you, great winter motifs are guaranteed.
Lumagica in the courtyard garden
The magical festival of lights LUMAGICA in the Hofgarten went into a new round this year as well. A great new concept and new characters made the event even more beautiful this year. Highly recommended!
Until next Sunday, January 29, you can still visit Lumagica, get tickets here: LUMAGICA TICKETS.
Trip to the Patscherkofel
With the modern cable car you can get very quickly to Innsbruck's local mountain, the Patscherkofel. Ideally connected by public transport (line J) from the city, you are at the bottom station in a few minutes and can either go skiing or, like me, take a winter hike including a great stop. With the train it goes to the mountain station and from there over a beautifully groomed winter hiking trail first to Hochmahdalm and then on to Patscher Alm. You should definitely stop in, the regional food I can only recommend.
Trip to the Nordkette
Enjoy the sunset on Innsbruck's Nordkette? Yes, definitely! In winter, the sunset is often particularly beautiful and also relatively early in the evening, so that you can still do something in the city afterwards. With the Hungerburgbahn it goes from the Congress from the city center in a few minutes up to the Hafelekar on 2,334 meters.
More winter impressions
Innsbruck has so much to offer. Here are some suggestions where it is especially beautiful in winter.
