In the run-up to Christmas, the roads are often full and the streets are packed with pedestrians on gift-buying missions or simply enjoying a pre-Christmas stroll through the city. Parking spaces are hard to find, which is why we recommend using the Park & Ride facilities located outside of the city centre and taking the convenient buses and trams into the heart of the city.

Are you planning on visiting the Christmas market at Bergisel on the outskirts of the city? If so, we recommend hopping on the Sightseer or taking the tram (line 1 or STB). Or do you want to head up to the Hungerburg district for a Christmas market with views of the city? The Hungerburg is a popular location with limited parking so it's best to travel by bus (bus J) or use the Hungerburgbahn funicular.
